Jay Horinouchi | Japan + USA
Jay Horinouchi is an artist/designer, and spent most of his life in sunny California before moving to Japan in 2010. The following year he found himself in the middle of the biggest earthquake disaster in Japanese history and started volunteering to aid the tsunami-stricken Tohoku region. Soon after, he stepped up to lead groups of student volunteers as one of the coordinators for the Nippon Foundation and Nikkei Youth Network. Currently he is working on a new project in Kesennuma’s Karakuwa-cho: a multi-purpose creative hub called J-Station.
